Long time no bento :/ I've been swamped and taking pictures of bento is always the first thing to go. But I am back with my first attempt at dyed onigiri. Woo!

Kidlet has an onigiri clover, clementine segments, apple, and mini soy corndogs. yum :D

onigiri
Just started packing my 3 yo daughter bento lunch. I was wondering if you make the onigiri the night before, and if you can use leftover rice, or if you have to cook it then? Love looking at all your bentos!

Most of the time I make the onigiri the night before along with the rest of the lunch. I let it cool and then pack it in the box and put it in the fridge. My kidlet eats his cold and likes it that way so it works out for us.

When I make a batch of rice I make a big one and freeze individually shaped onigir in plastic wrap. They can then be defrosted individually for a quick bento!
